On Friday, Jan. 29, the AOA issued the following statement:

The osteopathic profession believes that access to care is a fundamental cornerstone of patient well-being and public health. 

Joined by 56o Divisional Societies and Specialty Colleges, the AOA reaffirms its commitment to unimpeded access to healthcare for all individuals, whether it be in-person or through telehealth. Access to routine care and emergency care services should never be compromised. Ensuring that our patients can seek medical care in environments where they feel safe seeking treatment, free from barriers that impede access to lifesaving services, is essential.

As physicians, we adhere to our osteopathic oath of being ever vigilant in aiding in the general welfare of the community and being mindful always of our great responsibility to preserve the health and life of our patients.
