Jones, CAE, Award are Diana M. Ewert, MPA, CAE, former CEO of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association (POMA) and Foundation (POMAF) and Bob Moore, MA, MS, FASAE, CAE, executive director of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP). Ewert and Moore have been recognized for their exemplary leadership and tremendous contributions toward advancing osteopathic medicine. The award is named in honor of Bob E. Jones, CAE, who served as executive director of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association from 1969-1999, and whose 30-year leadership of the association resulted in numerous advances for the profession. Diana M. Ewert, MPA, CAE Ewert embodies all the leadership qualities of the late Bob E. Jones, CAE. For the last 15 years, she has dedicated herself to the osteopathic community. Combining her love of the profession with the constant goal of growth, she has had a positive impact. Ewert was the both the chief executive officer (CEO) and chief staff officer of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association (POMA), where she also served as CEO for the foundation (POMAF) and supervised the operations of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society (POFPS). Diana Ewert, MPA, CAE Within POMA and the POMAF, she fostered innovative, new educational and professional resources and programs for students, residents, physicians and the community. She consulted with affiliates in areas of strategic planning, leadership, board development, governance and educational programming. Her collegial spirit served her well during her recent term as President of the Association of Osteopathic State Executive Directors (AOSED). She brought her colleagues together to partner on projects to build the osteopathic profession in all states, increased collaboration with the AOA and served as a trusted sounding board for her colleagues. Related In all her positions, current and past, Ewert has been committed to the advancement of the osteopathic profession. Ewert retired on July 1 and leaves a wonderful legacy within the osteopathic profession and beyond. Bob Moore, MA, MS, FASAE, CAE Moore is a champion of osteopathic family medicine and the osteopathic profession. Since becoming the executive director of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), Moore has focused on developing and maintaining ACOFP as an affiliate of strength in the osteopathic profession. He has recruited exceptional staff with strengths and talents that are innovative and have moved the ACOFP forward. He has pursued grant awards that will help those in family medicine to understand and position themselves to encourage students to pursue family medicine residencies, especially within the osteopathic profession. Bob Moore, MA, MS, FASAE, CAE Moore has worked collaboratively with the ACOFP Foundation to develop its strategic plan and to work with the ACOFP on multiple efforts. He continues to focus on ACOFP educational offerings through the ACOFP Annual Convention, OMED and the ACOFP Osteopathic Continuous Certification (OCC) modules and e-learning offerings. ACOFP continues to work closely with the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) so that the number of family physicians with osteopathic certification will grow. Moore has been instrumental as the ACOFP continues to focus on advocacy efforts as well. Moore is a respected leader in the osteopathic and association communities. He was named Fellow of the ASAE, a recognition only bestowed upon 300 of the country’s past and current association executives. Moore has been active in the Society of Specialty Executives (SOSE) and currently serves on the SOSE Executive Committee. Recognition The AOA recognized and presented the Bob E. Jones, CAE, Award to Ewert and Moore during the AOA House of Delegates Meeting held in July.
