AOA now accepting Mosaic award nominations

The award will be presented to one individual and one organization that have proven exemplary leadership and a sustained commitment to fostering a welcoming, respectful and collaborative osteopathic community.

The AOA is seeking nominations for its Mosaic award. Nominations are due on May 22, and winners will be notified in August and recognized in October during OMED 2026. The award will be presented to one individual and one organization that have proven exemplary leadership and a sustained commitment to fostering a welcoming, respectful and collaborative osteopathic community while expanding opportunities for engagement, professional growth and service across the profession.

How to nominate

Nominations may be submitted on the candidate’s behalf with their permission and must include the following:

1. Curriculum vitae or résumé.

2. Description of how the candidate or organization has helped foster a welcoming and supportive environment within the osteopathic community, which may include but is not limited to:

-Increasing understanding of the experiences, challenges and opportunities that shape the osteopathic profession.

-Expanding access to educational, professional and leadership opportunities for individuals whose perspectives have historically been less visible within osteopathic medicine.

-Developing programs, resources or tools that promote mutual respect, collaboration and a sense of belonging within organizations or across the profession.

-Serving as an advocate for individuals and groups whose voices may be less frequently heard within the osteopathic community.

3. Letter of recommendation.
