In one of his final acts as AOA President, Robert S. Juhasz, DO, addressed the AOA House of Delegates Friday morning, reflecting on a period of transformative change for the osteopathic medical profession.

Looking back over a year made memorable by the AOA’s work toward implementation of a single GME accreditation system and the repeal of the sustainable growth rate, President Juhasz marveled at the opportunity for DOs to take a central role in shaping the future of U.S. health care.

“The time for osteopathic medicine to lead the transformation of health care is now,” President Juhasz told the crowd of more than 400 delegates gathered in Chicago for the AOA’s Annual Business Meeting. “We must be keenly aware that healthcare delivery is changing rapidly in the US and around the world, and people are hungry for the kind of care that we provide.”
