NOM Week is a celebration of the 197,000 members of the osteopathic medical profession who have dedicated their careers to caring for their patients. This year’s theme, Honoring our past, building our future, reflects on the osteopathic profession’s many contributions to medicine over the past 150 years while we look to a future full of promise for the next generation of DOs. Members of the osteopathic medical community who would like to join in the festivities this week can access the NOM Week Celebration Kit, which has find downloadable social graphics and other resources for sharing DO pride. The kit also includes special social graphics for DOs and for medical students. Other ways to celebrate include: • Following the AOA on social media and using #NOMWeek and #DOProud to join the discussion. • Watching for Instagram takeovers by DOs and osteopathic medical students who will share how they’re celebrating NOM Week and living #DOProud. • Posting a thank you message to a member of the profession who helped you on your journey toward becoming a DO. • Staying tuned to our social media channels for NOM trivia and pop quizzes throughout the week. • Reading special NOM Week content in The DO, including a profile of an OMM specialist and an essay on the merits of teaching OMT to MDs.
