April 18, 2017Tuesday The DO Staff Contact The DO Staff Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email Danielle Ward, OMS III, from the Georgia Campus-Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee (GA-PCOM), is the first osteopathic medical student to serve as president of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA). SNMA chapters across the country are committed to raising awareness of health disparities in underserved and minority communities. The association elected Ward as president-elect at the 2016 Annual Medical Education Conference in Austin, Texas, and she assumed her new role this past weekend at the 2017 conference in Atlanta. Ward is excited to take on this leadership role and plans to outline her executive agenda in a future article for The DO.
