The NHSC scholarship program is now taking applications

Medical students interested in primary care disciplines are eligible for the scholarship; the deadline to apply is April 27.

Medical students planning to enter primary care disciplines may be eligible for a scholarship from the National Health Service Corps (NHSC).

Scholarship awardees that provide primary care services for at least two years at an NHSC-approved site in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) will be get their tuition paid for and will receive a stipend through the NHSC scholarship program.

Approximately 180 applicants will receive scholarships. The online application must be submitted by 7:30 p.m. ET on April 27, 2017. Scholarship recipients will be notified before Sept. 30, 2017.
