Five members of the association explained the benefits of osteopathic recognition in a recent article in the Annals of Family Medicine.

In a recent article in the Annals of Family Medicine, five members of the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors explained how osteopathic recognition works and how family medicine residencies can benefit from obtaining it.

Osteopathic recognition is an extra designation secured by ACGME-accredited programs that offer training in osteopathic manipulative medicine and the osteopathic philosophy.

“Patient care that is delivered within the context of osteopathic principles and practices is aligned to patient-centered, high-value care and to the needs of our nation’s health care system,” the article stated.
