News in Brief

JAOA calls for research papers

Researchers are invited to submit papers related to timely health issues, including global health outbreaks, opioid abuse and chronic pain.

The Zika virus and pain management treatment amid the nation’s opioid epidemic are just a few examples of health issues on which physicians need current evidence-based information they can implement in a timely fashion to enhance patient care.

The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association (JAOA) seeks to ensure its content provides physicians with information they need by issuing a call for papers on the following timely health topics:

  • Outbreaks in a globalized world (Ebola, Zika virus).
  • Opioid use, abuse and alternatives in pain management.
  • Chronic pain and pain rehabilitation.
  • Vaping, marijuana and cannabinoids.
  • Lifestyle medicine in disease management and prevention.
  • Elderly patient care.

Manuscripts are subject to the review and approval of the AOA editor in chief. The JAOA prefers high-quality research manuscripts and reviews.

Be sure to consult the JAOA’s Information for Authors before submitting your manuscript.
