June 9, 2016Thursday The DO Staff Contact The DO Staff Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email Three DOs will provide the osteopathic medical profession a voice when they begin their new duties on the Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry. Teshina Wilson, DO, John Sealey, DO, and Thomas McWilliams, DO, were recently appointed to this 17-member committee charged with making recommendations to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services concerning policy and program development for the HRSA Bureau of Health Workforce programs. The AOA, which nominated Dr. Wilson and Dr. Sealey, coordinated with the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), which nominated Dr. McWilliams, on the nomination process overall in an attempt to strengthen the osteopathic medical profession’s representation. As a result, the two organizations now collectively have three DOs on this committee. Committee members represent practicing health professionals engaged in training, leaders from health professions organizations, faculty from health professions educational institutions, and health professionals from teaching hospitals or community-based settings.
