Nov. 4, 2015Wednesday The DO Staff Contact The DO Staff Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email Last week, AOA Trustee Joseph Giaimo, DO, participated in a White House briefing to share additional information about the 2015 Open Enrollment period, which began Nov. 1, for consumers to sign up for 2016 plans under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Dr. Giaimo and the panel discussed the efforts underway to encourage eligible citizens to sign up for health insurance. In order to help you answer the many questions your patients might have about coverage under the ACA, you can download free pocket cards designed specifically for providers. These cards contain useful information on how patients can enroll in a plan, which preventive services are covered without cost-sharing, and health benefits included in marketplace plans. Enrollment runs through Jan. 31, 2016. Consumers who have already received health coverage through the marketplace should plan to review their coverage options by Dec. 15, 2015.
