May 7, 2019Tuesday AOA Staff Contact AOA Staff Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email Topics AOA contestBIOMglobal healthnarrative medicine The Bureau of International Osteopathic Medicine (BIOM) will soon be accepting entries for its 21st Annual BIOM Competition on Global Health Research and Narrative Medicine. The competition will be held this fall during OMED 2019 in Baltimore. All osteopathic medical students and residents in the U.S. are eligible to enter the competition’s two categories: Global health research abstracts Narrative medicine essays All entries must be focused on the entrants’ experiences with global health and/or providing health care internationally. BIOM will award $750 for a first-prize winner and $500 for a second-prize winner in each category and will award one $1,500 grand prize across both competition categories. The grand prize winner and the first-prize winners will have the opportunity to orally present their work at the annual BIOM International Seminar in Baltimore in October. This competition is only open to students of American colleges of osteopathic medicine and osteopathic medical residents. BIOM will begin accepting submissions in June.
