Previously, Dr. Bates was as a senior vice president for cognitive testing for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. Prior to working for the NBOME, Dr. Bates rose to leadership at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, where he held various positions, including chair of family medicine and founding chair of the geriatrics department.
