Aug. 23, 2016Tuesday AOA Staff Contact AOA Staff Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email Six residents who embody clinical promise, leadership, dedication and commitment to osteopathic patient-centered care will each be recognized as an Outstanding Resident of the Year by the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) during its Honors 2016 reception at OMED 2016 in Anaheim, California. In partnership with six specialty societies, the AOF will recognize six residents in the following specialties: Emergency medicine: Shane Sergent, DO, a resident at Duke Lifepoint Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Family medicine: Jessica Edwards, DO, a resident at Care Point Health-Christ Hospital Family Medicine. Internal medicine: Abby Sapp, DO, a resident at Franciscan St. James. Obstetrics and gynecology: Ryan Kooperman, DO, a resident with Midwestern University’s Presence-Resurrection Healthcare Consortium. Osteopathic manipulative medicine: Precious Barnes, DO, a resident at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Pediatrics: Jennifer Berkovich, DO, a resident at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital / Miami Children’s Health System. “These six residents are true emerging leaders. Their exemplary skills throughout their specialty training and their consistent approach to patient-centered care through osteopathic medicine make them so deserving of this award,” says Larry A.
