Best in care The best hospitals in 2021, according to US News The Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic landed at the top of U.S. News’ list of the best overall hospitals. See which others made the lists this year. U.S. News also released a list of the top hospitals overall—hospitals that ranked highly across multiple specialties and conditions. To rank hospitals, U.S. News examined multiple factors, including clinical outcomes, staffing and patient satisfaction. More information about their methodology is available here. Below is U.S. News’ list of the 20 overall top hospitals for 2021-2022 along with its top 20 hospitals for gynecology, orthopedics and rehabilitation and its top-ranked hospitals for psychiatry. U.S. News gave fewer hospitals numerical rankings for psychiatry—the 11 hospitals with numerical rankings are listed below. Note that these lists were compiled using data that predates COVID-19.
