Across the nation The 100 best hospitals in the US in 2021, according to Healthgrades Healthgrades evaluated hospitals based on clinical quality outcomes for 32 conditions and procedures. Healthgrades evaluated hospitals based on clinical quality outcomes for 32 conditions and procedures, which include heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis and stroke. The data Healthgrades examined to create the list is from Medicare fiscal years 2017-2019. According to Healthgrades, these hospitals are more likely to have successful outcomes and less likely to have major complications for these specific conditions and procedures. Patients in these hospitals have, on average, a 27% lower chance of death than they would if treated in another hospital, Healthgrades says. Here are Healthgrades’ 2021 top 100 hospitals by state.
