During a year of significant challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the AOA worked to provide support and guidance for the osteopathic medical profession’s 151,000 DOs and osteopathic medical students. In addition, the year culminated with the conclusion of the five-year transition to a single accreditation system for graduate medical education in the United States, paving the way for increased training opportunities for DOs with a continued focus on Osteopathic Recognition.
