The deadline for applying for the grants described below is Jan. 31, 2017. Research grants Research grants are available for research in osteopathic philosophy, chronic diseases and conditions, osteopathic manipulative medicine/osteopathic manipulative treatment, musculoskeletal injuries and prevention, and pain management. This year’s chronic diseases grant will focus on the osteopathic approach to addressing diabetes-related disorders. Research training grants New this year are two research training programs designed to encourage physicians in training and medical students to contribute to osteopathic research throughout their career. The physicians in training research program project must assess the osteopathic approach to one of the AOA’s research priority areas. The osteopathic medical students research program will support supplemental projects of existing research studies. How to apply The deadline to submit applications for research grants and training programs is Jan. 31, 2017. Research grant awards will be announced June 15, 2017.
