Consider nominating them for an American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) award. Nominations will be accepted through Tuesday, May 24, for the following awards: Physician of the Year This award recognizes a practicing osteopathic physician who achieves greatness through integrity, commitment to service and community involvement. The designation Physician of the Year is awarded to an individual whose extraordinary accomplishments and service bring a sense of pride to the profession, and whose actions promote the science of medicine and the betterment of public health. W. Douglas Ward, PhD, Educator of the Year The AOF bestows the Educator of the Year honor to an individual who emulates the osteopathic profession’s highest standards of excellence in teaching, impacts the academic advancement of osteopathic students, and has made long-standing contributions to the profession. The nominee does not need to be a DO but must be currently involved in osteopathic medical education. Outstanding Resident of the Year This award honors residents who embody clinical promise, leadership, dedication and commitment to osteopathic patient-centered care. In partnership with six specialty societies, the AOF will recognize six residents in: Internal medicine. Pediatric medicine. Emergency medicine. Family medicine. Obstetrics and gynecology.
