Kuchinski, DO, a board-certified emergency medicine physician, received the American Osteopathic Association’s Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes his advocacy efforts on behalf of the osteopathic medical profession. A past president of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians, Dr. Kuchinski was on the founding board of the college’s philanthropic arm, the Foundation for Osteopathic Emergency Medicine, and served as its president. During his tenure on the foundation’s board, he established the David A. Kuchinski Memorial Research Grant, which supports research in emergency medicine. Joseph J. Kuchinski, DO Dr. Kuchinski advocates for the profession as a member of the AOA’s Bureau on Federal Health Programs and chair of the Osteopathic Political Action Committee. “Dr. Kuchinski’s advocacy work gives DOs, and ultimately their patients, a voice on Capitol Hill about legislative matters that impact the health care landscape,” says AOA President Boyd R. Buser, DO. The Distinguished Service Award, the AOA’s highest honor, recognizes leaders of the osteopathic medical profession who have made outstanding accomplishments and contributions in the advancement of osteopathic medicine, education or other fields of public service. The award was presented during AOA’s OMED 2016 in Anaheim, California.
