July 12, 2016Tuesday The DO Staff Contact The DO Staff Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email When Timothy Tsai, OMS IV, first envisioned creating a free massive open online course (MOOC) about osteopathic medicine, he thought it would be a short-lived endeavor. However, the project took on a new life once he collaborated with faculty and students at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. So far more than 1,200 people have taken the Introduction to Osteopathic Medicine course since its launch in May. The school’s academic technologies group recorded videos for the MOOC that help educate the public about osteopathic medicine and DOs’ approach toward patient care by focusing on prevention. The self-paced course features four modules: Introduction to Osteopathic Medicine. History of Osteopathic Medicine. Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. Clinical Applications of OMT.
