News in brief NBOME extends enhanced attestation to Class of 2023 Students can earn eligibility for COMLEX-USA Level 3 through an enhanced attestation of fundamental osteopathic clinical skills by their college of osteopathic medicine deans. Dec. 20, 2021Monday The DO Staff Contact The DO Staff Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email The NBOME Board of Directors has extended its enhanced attestation guidelines for the Class of 2022 COMLEX-USA Level 3 eligibility to the Class of 2023. Previously, to address issues related to the indefinite suspension of the COMLEX-USA Level 2-PE, the NBOME Board of Directors approved new requirements for eligibility for COMLEX-USA Level 3 for the graduating DO Class of 2022. These students were permitted to earn eligibility for COMLEX-USA Level 3 through an enhanced attestation of fundamental osteopathic clinical skills by their college of osteopathic medicine deans. These eligibility requirements have been extended to the Class of 2023. The enhanced attestation will allow these students to provide verification of their individual fundamental osteopathic clinical competences for eventual licensure eligibility in all 50 states — despite the inability to take the Level 2-PE due to its indefinite suspension. The AOA is thankful for the efforts that the NBOME has taken and continues to take on behalf of osteopathic medical students, while preserving the only osteopathically distinct examination for licensure for osteopathic physicians.
